Description

As expected, the Intel Core i9-12900K, Intel Core i9-13900K and AMD Ryzen 7950X had a clear lead. With fewer cores, higher turbo frequencies, and (apart from the Core i9-12900K) better IPC, Intel and AMD’s high-end workstation processors simply can’t keep up. The GIGABYTE WRX80 SU8 includes seven full-length PCIe 4.0 x16 slots, with a large chipset heatsink on the right-hand side. While it's difficult to determine a lot of the storage specifications from the image we have from VideoCardz, we can see it may include three to four Ethernet ports on the rear panel. Overall

We're also looking at comparable performance between the 5995WX and 5950X in Horizon Zero Dawn, meaning the new 64-core processor is 17% faster than its predecessor. Cooling Another model expected for AMD'sRyzen Threadripper Pro is the ASUS WRX80 Pro Sage SE WIFI. While we don't have anytechnical information and specifications from ASUS itself, we do have an image of it that VideoCardz reported on. There's a lot to go on from just the image, and it looks as though ASUS willfully utilizeall of the PCIe 4.0 lanes from Threadripper Pro.The Threadripper Pro 5995WX is an impressive processor and although for the majority of our testing it wasn't a great deal faster than the 3990X, it can be around 30% faster depending on the workload. However even that percentage gain can be fairly meaningless in a workstation setting, so here's what happened in ours... The main goal of this review is to test all of the Threadripper Pro 3000 hardware and compare against the equivalent Threadripper 3000 to get a sense of how much performance is gained by the increased memory bandwidth, or lost due to the slight core frequency differences. We are also including Intel’s best HEDT/workstation processor for comparison, the W-3175X, as well as the top consumer-grade processors on the market. All systems are tested at JEDEC specifications. Test Setup

This third-generation Threadripper Pro 7000 series platform is a serious upgrade over the Threadripper 5000 series. It starts with a move to AMD’s more efficient Zen 4 architecture (described in our AMD Ryzen 9 7950X review), an increased thermal design power (TDP) rating of 350 watts (W) versus 280W, and support for the latest PCI Express 5.0 specification and DDR5-5200 memory. AMD’s internal benchmark slides show the new Threadripper consistently outperforming the old one to the tune of double-digit percentages. The 5995WX was on par with the 5950X in Watch Dogs: Legion making it 15% faster than the 3990X, but much slower than the 12900K. AMD positions the Threadripper Pro chips for professional studios, designers, engineers, and data scientists, all of which can benefit from increased connectivity. We put the chips to the test in professional-class applications and our standard desktop PC test suite. And yes, we took the chip for a spin through our gaming suite to see how the extra four memory channels impact gaming performance. AMD Threadripper Pro Specifications Many thanks to Kingston for supplying a full set of KSM32RD8/16MEI - 16x16GB of DDR4-3200 ECC RDIMMs for enterprise testing in systems like Threadripper Pro.

AMD can easily fight the INTEL W-3300 series on performance, efficiency and pricing with a TR 7000 Pro Series. I see little incentive for AMD to counter the low models with a HEDT version. Maybe a little bit more incentive to counter the low models of the INTEL W-2400 series.

Introduces new Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors, the ultimate workstation platform from OEMs including Dell Technologies, HP, and Lenovo – Another workflow massively influenced by memory bandwidth is recompiling shaders in Unreal Engine 4.26 which uses all available cores. However, where Threadripper Pro 5995WX loses out in GB/sec it makes up for in cores and all-core frequency, as it still managed to beat the Xeon w9-3495X in our automotive benchmark. I'm a user of a TR 3960X with 256GB of memory as a development workstation + DBs + VMs + High speed networking. I remember when AMD killed the HEDT version of Threadripper for the 5000 series. The 3000 series HEDT was too good for end-users and cannibalizing the sales of the Pro version. They are plenty of start-up or professional users for which the HEDT version is sufficient, no need to pay twice the price for a Pro version. Intel doesn’t have any single chip that compares directly with the 96-core Threadripper Pro 7995WX. The ECC support is a crucial distinction in the workstation world. ECC is essential technology for fields, such as science, architectural design, and finance, in which unimpeachable accuracy and every decimal place matters. Non-Pro Ryzen Threadripper chips, in contrast, support ECC memory only in conjunction with certain motherboards.Supporting the incredible performance of Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5000 WX-Series processors and helping create a solution for the most demanding professionally managed IT environments, are several AMD PRO technologies including:
